Rental Buildings of Note

The theme of the Seaport’s new construction has been sleek, modern, and luxurious. The rental building options are no exception. If you are looking to rent rather than purchase, a number of developments in the Seaport fit the bill such as 100 Pier 4, Via, The Benjamin, Watermark Seaport and Waterside Place, While each building has its own unique feel, common amenities include concierge, fitness center, resident lounge and common roof deck.

AROUND THE BLOCK

The Seaport has been impressive in its ability to draw such a wide variety of restaurants, bars, hotels, museums, shopping and activities to the area in a relatively short period of time. You’ll find some Boston establishments as well as some new comers making a name for themselves. Below are a few highlights of what the neighborhood has to offer.

Envoy Hotel: The Envoy Hotel has quickly become a hot spot for travelers and Bostonians alike. Part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection, Envoy features a collection of contemporary art and virtual pool table in the lobby, Outlook, the ground floor restaurant, and Lookout, the spacious rooftop bar. In the winter, Lookout features igloos so even in the snow you can still enjoy a cocktail looking out at the Boston skyline.

Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse: If you are looking for dinner with a view, one of the Seaport’s most popular restaurants is Del Frisco’s. The steak house features floor to ceiling window to capture the stunning view of the Boston Harbor and offers up an extensive menu with some of the more popular dishes being the dry-aged steaks, broiled lobster tail, charred octopus, lamb and lobster macaroni and cheese.

Row 34: Developed from the team that made the Island Creek Oyster Bar which is one of my local favorites, Row 34 brings in a crowd of its own in the Seaport. Popular with the after-work crowd and another one of my favorite spots, Row 34 emphasizes on expensive raw bar (oysters of course!), lobster rolls, and extensive curated beers menu.

Institute of Contemporary Art: Developed in 2006 in the South Boston Seaport, the ICA acts as the sister museum to New York’s MoMA. The ICA’s architectural elements add to the Seaport’s image of sleek, new and modern. The impressive collections including self curated shows, exhibitions, tours, and large-scale sculptures, creates a unique avant-garde feel. Check out Free Thursday nights and Summer Architecture Tours: August 9th, 16th, and 23rd.

King’s Bowling: King’s Dining and Entertainment goes beyond bowling at the new Seaport location and offers a different type of night out. In addition to 16 bowling lanes, Kings provides an extensive comfort food and drink menu; pizzas, mac and cheese bites, wings, milkshakes, over 40 craft beers, specialty cocktails, and large-volume drinks to share. Additional games include pool, shuffleboard, foosball, and air hockey, and an arcade games.

Tatte Bakery and Cafe: Boston’s favorite bakery sails into the Seaport! Tatte Bakery and Cafe (which is one of my favorite’s for coffee and conversation) is anticipated to open September 2018. Coming in at over 4,000-square-feet, the bakery’s latest development will live on the ground floor of Pier 4. Tatte is known for its delicious baked goods including croissants, muffins, fruit tarts, and breads along with savory dishes, soups, coffee, and vegan options.
