I was recently interviewed for Compass’ Your Neighborhood Expert, an insert in Boston Magazine’s Fall Real Estate issue. The magazine was distributed to over 57,000 households throughout Greater Boston. Check out my feature below.
Which Boston neighborhoods would you consider a good investment?
While Back Bay, Beacon Hill and South End continue to be sound investments, several Boston neighborhoods such as East Boston, Dorchester, South Boston, Fenway and Brighton are “up and coming.” Price per square foot is relatively low and rising at a more rapid rate, and absolute prices are lower compared to these more established neighborhoods.
What advice do you give clients when they are getting ready to sell their home?
Well in advance of listing their home, I meet with clients to advise them on necessary repairs, serious decluttering and updates where the benefits outweigh the costs. I understand the mindset of potential buyers, what they look for, and potential deterrents. Since a buyer’s first impression of a home is online, I take great care to stage and have the home photographed professionally ultimately to achieve the best outcome.
